Shinichi Nakamura joined All Nippon Airways (ANA) 1990 after several years working at Suntory, a large beverage manufacturer in Japan. There he worked in the international affairs and revenue management departments. He also served as a liaison to the U.S military and foreign ministries. He was seconded from ANA to work for the Japan Travel and Tourism Association (JTTA) as executive director of international affairs. JTTA is an affiliate member of UNWTO and covers local governments and private companies. He was involved in producing the collaborative report The Case of Japan: Gastronomy Tourism, with UNWTO as a project leader and the head of the editorial team in Japan.
