Suraj is a professional chef, food writer, Nepalese food enthusiast and dreamer about food tourism in Nepal. He was awarded with the Nepal Tourism Minister’s Student Achiever Award 2010 in Australia, which set the tone for his career path. His pride for his nation’s cuisine and food heritage led to Suraj starting a ‘Let’s talk about Nepalese Food’ 2013 campaign in Sydney and Nepal, which he co-founded his company, Two Tables Australia. He and his company have planned and organized several gastronomical events, along with food tourism and hospitality consulting company with various stakeholders and partners in Nepal and Australia. Recently he and his team successfully organised FoodTreX Kathmandu, the country’s first food tourism conference in Kathmandu. Suraj serves as am Ambassador of the World Food Travel Association in Nepal.
