Meet Daniela Nardi 2018 Scholarship Recipient

Dec 18, 2018

Daniela Nardi was a recipient of one of the World Food Travel Association's education scholarships this year. She used her scholarship to be able to attend the 2018 FoodTreX London | Food Travel Innovation Summit. She had this to say about the experience:

"This was a fantastic opportunity to hear from leaders in the Food Travel Industry. Thanks to the scholarship I was able to attend, meet and network with Ambassadors, Entrepreneurs and Consultants to share ideas and experiences".

Daniela is a student of Hospitality Management (BA) at the University of Greenwich - London, and a personal chef.  Thanks to generous support from our community, Daniela and her career are able to benefit from education like this, at no cost to her.

In this episode number 67 of The Business of Food Travel podcast, we speak with Rico Mandel. In 2001, when the dotcom bubble burst and then September 11 hit, Rico's marketing business collapsed. After some soul searching, he decided to enroll in culinary school, an experience that changed his life. He worked in restaurants and catering, while building his contact networks and continuing marketing work in the hospitality industry. This eventually led him to create Miz En Place, an ecommerce platform that delves into the world of gastronomy through artisanal food and beverage products, experiences, and stories.
