Junior Ambassadors

Guardians (for the Taste of Place Movement)

Guardians are the highest honor within our global community. They are visionary leaders who embody and protect the values of the Taste of Place Movement, standing as champions of culinary heritage.

  • Appointment is by invitation only, though trusted peers may nominate candidates.
  • Guardians are chosen for their passion, leadership, and belief in the mission.
  • Unlike Ambassadors, Guardians do not need to hold professional membership. They serve because they believe deeply in the mission of Taste of Place.

How to become an AMBASSADOR

To become an Ambassador, you must first be a premium member of our GastroTerra community. Start by joining as a free member here. After logging in, follow these instructions to upgrade to the professional level.  Once you have upgraded, contact us to express your interest in becoming an Ambassador. We encourage you to be active in the GastroTerra community to demonstrate your commitment. If we believe you are a good fit, we will invite you to enroll in the required Ambassador training, which is free of charge.  Upon completing the training, you will immediately start enjoying your Ambassador benefits.

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • How much time do I need to commit?

    Not much. It’s about sharing your pride in your destination when it makes sense for you.

  • Do I need to be a WFTA Member?

    Ambassadors and Junior Ambassadors maintain a professional membership. Guardians are invited to serve without that requirement.

  • Can I apply to be a Guardian?

    No. Guardians are invitation-only, but you may nominate someone you feel embodies the spirit of the Taste of Place Movement.

  • What support will I get?

    Recognition on our website, visibility through our channels, and a connection to a global network of peers.

  • Do Ambassadors receive any training?

    Yes. We provide complimentary training to help you succeed in your role. The training is short, practical, and designed to give you confidence in representing both your destination and our Association.

  • Is there a cost to participate?

    No extra cost beyond professional membership for Ambassadors and Junior Ambassadors. Guardians serve by invitation.
